Abstract

A non-volatile electrically alterable array chip is placed on each computer multi-chip circuit module to retain the manufacturing and service history of the module. The data placed on the chip could include the module part and serial numbers, the length of time the module has been in service, the last date of installation and removal, data in the module at the time of failure and signature analysis data. This data can be entered and updated at the manufacturing and/or maintenance location and by the service and maintenance processor in the computer in which the module is functionally operating.
