Abstract

An electronic document distribution program product allows an operator to queue documents and commands to be sent during a communication session prior to the actual establishment of the communication link. These commands are stored on the feature diskette until they are actually communicated. This allows the operator to add to or alter the commands in the queue, if necessary. A problem arises when the operator attempts to save the queue on a different program diskette than was originally loaded to create the queue since the program diskette contains all the parameters necessary to control the transmission session between a particular terminal and other terminals in the network or electronic document distribution system.

Preventing Communication Preparation From Being Stored on Wrong Feature Diskette

If the queue is not saved on the same program diskette or a different program diskette with the same transmission parameters as the one originally loaded to create queue, the transmission parameters will not correspond to the transmission parameters needed to communicate the queue. This invention solves the problem of determining if the proper program diskette is mounted for saving the queue and displays a message to the operator if the program diskette originally used to create or modify the queue is not loaded. This is accomplished by the following procedure: 1. When the operator chooses to save the communication session on preparation or queue, the operator is
