Abstract

The low inductance feature of this ceramic chip capacitor is achieved by use of known tab concepts. This disclosure extends the tab concept to include the top of the capacitor as a functional area. Without the proposed improvement, the testing of this capacitor before and after reflow joining to its module is difficult due to the solder bump size and close proximity. The additional tabs allow large contact pads to be added to the top surface for the purpose of making contact to the capacitor with electrical probes.
