Abstract

Guide rods for recording head carriages in floppy disk drives can be more easily assembled by use of strong spring clips to hold the guide rods in place. The spring clips replace screws or screw-fastened clips previously used to hold the guide rods. In the end view shown above, guide rods 10 rest in corners of frame 12. The corners of the frame define the position of the rods. Spring clip 14 snaps into slot 16 in frame 12. Spring arms 18 extend from clip 14 and hold rods 10 in the corners of frame 12.
