Abstract

Some computer systems, such as the IBM System/38, have an operating system which allows a user to back up the system to a tape and diskette. Both must be used to reinstall the system. Consequently, if one gets lost, the other is useless. Conventional tape storage racks do not have a provision for storing diskettes and, similarly, diskette holders have no provision for storing tapes. In order to keep the tape and associated diskette 30 together as a unit, holders or clips 20 are attached or integral with flange 15 of tape reel 10 (Figs 1 and 2). The diskette 30 is then held to the flange 15 of the tape reel 10 by the holders or clips 20, and the tape reel 10 can be stored in conventional tape storage racks with the associated diskette 30.
