Abstract

This article describes a device which enables the connection of several rack-mounted hot pluggable units with or without logical relations. One of the pluggable units is a power unit which is connected to a voltage distribution board fixed to the rack or enclosure back panel. The voltage is conveniently distributed to various plugs mounted on the voltage distribution board. The power is then fed into the corresponding rack-mounted units by using an interconnector which plugs into both the voltage distribution board and the rack-mounted units. Such rack-mounted equipment enables easy rack-content changes at customer locations by simply changing the voltage distribution boards and/or the interconnectors.
