Abstract

An air filter system uses a sheet of open cell foam as the filter media retained in the air flow channel by VELCRO* strips. As shown in Fig. 1, retention strips 10 are attached by adhesive or other means so as to frame the opening 11 in plate member 12 of the covers of a printer or other device. As shown in Fig. 2, strips 10 comprise a thin base 13 and integral retention pins 14. Retention pins 14 extend from one side of and are molded into the base 13. An adhesive on the opposite side from pins 14 attaches the base 13 to the surface of panel 12, preferably on all four sides of opening 11. As shown in Fig. 3, the filter for air flowing through opening 11 comprises sheet 15 of open cell foam or the like. Sheet 15 is cut to a size and shape so that the border edges of sheet 15 overlap base 13.
