Abstract

A vacuum-operated paper pick foot 10 is supported by a neoprene rubber bellows 11 of critical formulation, allowing the bellows to be transfer molded with very thin (0.01 inch), but uniform thickness walls. The neoprene compound is formulated for high flow rates, in order to rapidly fill a mold having four end gates and two center vents. The formulation is as follows, where the amounts are given by weight. (Image Omitted) In mixing these ingredients, it is preferred to follow this order, all at a temperature of 100ŒF. a) Mix ingredients 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for about thirty seconds. b) Add 1/2 of ingredient 6 and 1/3 of ingredient 7, and mix for about one minute. c) Add the remainder of ingredient 6 and 1/3 of ingredient 7, and mix for about two minutes.
