Abstract

A technique is described whereby a multicolored fabric ribbon is easily manufactured for use in printers and the like. Through the use of ultrasonics, a plurality of welds 10 are made along the length of a fabric ribbon 11. The welds are made at each separation of the colors so that the ink to be applied to each section at a later step in the manufacturing process will not bleed over onto an adjoining section.
