Abstract

A modification to a 6-high card holder increases its thermal tolerance and prevents high thermally-induced forces from cracking out the bottom end of the card holder. A portion of both the side rail 3 and the first web 4 are removed. This has the effect of building an "expansion curve" into the holder sides to relieve the stresses caused by the difference in thermal contraction between the card and the holder. The modified holder still has more than enough strength to extract the card from the board/cage assembly.
