Abstract

A typing test may be self-administered by a typist through using a software program in which the typist starts the test by activating an unused coded function, such as coded T, and stops the test by activating another unused coded function, such as coded H. The program is shown in the flow chart. The entered text is compared with the stored text, and any errors encountered are counted. After the coded H occurs, timing ends and the typing speed and number of errors are automatically printed.
