Abstract

Described is a conversion of a drafting table or the like to an adjustable terminal base. CADAM systems are usually used in environments where the terminal operators are sitting. It is, therefore, desirable to have a terminal base that is fully adjustable as to height and angle of tilt, similar to a drafting board. It is sometimes necessary or desirable to operate the terminal from a standing position or while moving around the terminal. Occasionally, a physical impairment will prevent a person from sitting for long periods of time or from sitting at all. The figure demonstrates an economical terminal stand that can be adapted from a commercially available drafting table stand. The structure is strong enough to support the weight of the terminal while providing an adequate working area and adjustments.
