Abstract

An electromagnetically actuated lever l, pivotable about a pivot 5, is provided at one end with a specially designed spring 2. This spring is connected to a push rod 3 leading to the print hammer (not shown). For printing, the lever is moved in the arrow-marked direction until it hits stop 4. It is only then that the accelerated print hammer/push rod assembly tensions spring 2. The resultant spring counterforce causes the print hammer to be restored to its original position after printing. The spring may be made of plastic and be molded to one end of the lever. Undivided spring systems are also conceivable, provided they comprise a recess for accommodating the end of the push rod.
