Abstract

A technique is described whereby a linear flexible printed circuit cable provides a low cost arrangement for assembling printer head actuating coils. Print head coils 10 are automatically inserted into flexible cable 11, as shown in Fig. 1. After the coils are soldered in place, the coil cable assembly 12, as shown in Fig. 2, is wrapped around print head 13 such that the coil centers correspond to the stator centers of the print head. Cover 14 is then placed over the entire assembly for protection. The rear surface of the print head is left open to provide heat dissipation capability.
