Paper Directing Link

A rigid, movable link, in, for example, a copier's paper feeder, directs paper at variable angles.

A copier 1 inlet 2 receives paper 3 driven between belts 4 across an opening between a feeder 5 and drive belts 12 and chute 6. The angle between the inlet 2 and the chute 6 is adjustable around the axis 7. A link 8, attached to the feeder 5 by belt pulley shaft 9, has a central slot 11 permitting relative motion with shaft 10 on chute 6.

As paper 3 moves across the opening, the link 8 directs the paper from the feeder 5 to the chute 6. Belts 4 and drive belts 12 are synchronized by gears (not shown) concentric to axis 7. The chute 6 angle may be adjusted without interrupting paper flow.
