Adding Josephson junction and an inductor in series at each of the feed points improves interferometer margins.

Fig. 1 is an electrical diagram of the 3-5 interferometer, which is a standard 3-junction interferometer, with a Josephson junction in series with an inductor added to each of the feed points. The added inductor is made equal to the inductors in the other branches so that I(mo)=6I(0). The control current is not coupled to the added inductances. (Coupling the control current to the added inductances decreases the margins unless critical points can be used.)

Fig. 2 shows a 3-5 interferometer with larger junctions added at the feed points and I(mo) of 8I(0).
