Abstract

There is shown and described an inexpensive sheet aligner for use in a single feed-roll paper path in a printer or the like. Sheet 2 is guided about platen 4 by paper deflector 6. Paper deflector 6 includes an alignment step which extends lengthwise of and in parallel with the platen axis of rotation. The leading edge of sheet 2 comes to rest against aligner step 8. Feed roll 10 moves to its operative position, shown in phantom, to pinch the properly aligned sheet 2 against platen 4 in preparation for normal printing and indexing.
