Abstract

In pistols for high purity water which are used only temporarily, bacteria can form in the pistol and in the supply tube, due to incident light, color effects and other influences. By keeping up a continuous flow of the fluid, even during periods of non-use, the growth of bacteria is prevented.

Bacteria Free Pistol for Deionized Water

In pistols for high purity water which are used only temporarily, bacteria can form in the pistol and in the supply tube, due to incident light, color effects and other influences. By keeping up a continuous flow of the fluid, even during periods of non-use, the growth of bacteria is prevented.

In casing 2 of the pistol with a nozzle head 1 there are two channels 3 and 4 connected to a supply nipple 5 and to a return nipple 6, respectively. Channels 3 and 4 open into valve chamber 7 and are interconnected thereby as long as the valve is closed. As the fluid supply is under pressure, and the return line is pressureless, there consequently ia a continuous flow so that no bacteria can grow in the deionized (DI) water.

By operating handle 8 against the resetting force of spring 9, valve cone 10 is lifted and the valve is opened, so that the DI water exits from nozzle head 1. Together with the opening of the valve, channel 4 for the backflow is closed by valve cylinder 11.
