Holder for Tools With Pistol Grips

A holder for pistol-grip tools is especially easy for any operator to use because its dimensions ideally match a human's natural hand positions and motions.

In Fig. 1, a bench 1 supports an oil finished wood or similar dense tool holder 2 in front of an operator gripping air tool 3 by handle 4. The operator puts unused air tools 5 in wood panel 6 openings 7 which have elliptical chamfers 8 providing large targets. The openings 6 are spaced to give hand clearance while minimizing hand movement and are also chamfered on the rear (note Fig. 2). A steel or aluminum base 9 is large enough to support six heavy air tools 5 at an angle conforming to a human's arm, reach and grasp biomechanical motions.

Fig. 2 shows the ideal dimensions in inches. The axis of each hole 7 is preferably oriented 10OE above horizontal.
