Electrode Feed for Metal Paper Printers

Electrode 1, when worn, is fed through transfer rolls 2, 3 in the direction of print head 4. At the end 5 remote from printing, electrode 1 is connected to print voltage supply 6, for example, by wrapping 7.

Depending upon the electrode stock, electrode 1 in pocket 8 is wound in several loose turns 9 about core 10. When electrode 1 is fed through rolls 2, 3, the turn diameter is reduced until turns 9 rest against core 10. The arrangement of electrodes 1 in adjacent flat pockets 8 is suitable for multiple electrode print heads.
