Abstract

Two sets of intelligent means, a system control program (SCP) and a maintenance and support facility (MSSF) can interact for controlling a data processing system for concurrent diagnosis and repair, and for establishing multiple production operating systems. This will allow the MSSF to implement different organizations of the installation while the SCP provides model-independent customer functions via model-independent algorithms. The algorithms yield model-dependent reconfiguration actions that are tailored to the organization of the system.
