Abstract

Magnetic bubble domain devices have higher operating margins when the 90Πand 180Πreverse corners have an extra piece of permalloy that is not used to provide a propagation path for bubbles but that is used to provide a strong magnetic pole which influences the propagation of a bubble on the propagation path. Fig. 1 shows a 90Πreverse corner 10 on which a bubble propagates from position 12 through 14 to position 16. The corner 10 has an extra piece of permalloy 18 that is not in the propagation path, but which increases the margin in the path 12-14-16. Fig. 2 shows a 180Πreverse corner on which a bubble propagates from position 22 on minor loop element 28 through position 24 to position 26 on minor loop element 30.
