Abstract

An annular spring stamped out of one piece of sheet metal having a plurality of tangential arms provides armature restoring force to each of a plurality of armatures in a wire matrix print head. Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the spring, and Fig. 2 shows an edge view. Fig. 3 shows the spring 11 mounted under cover 13. The tangential arms of the spring 11 push down on the portion of armatures 15 which extend beyond the outer magnetic pole pieces 17, tending to open the armature gap and permit print wires 19 to be retracted by their restoring coil springs 21. An annular spring stamped from sheet metal having tangential arms provides a durable part which can be easily assembled.
