Abstract

Uniform consistency of a slurry can be maintained without the introduction of bubbles by rotating a screw in the lower region of the container. Helical grooves 1 of screw 2 on shaft 3 cause the slurry to be forced upwardly along the helix to provide vigorous mixing, and large volumes of slurry are agitated because of the extended length of the helix. High angular velocity is unnecessary, and air bubbles are not introduced into the mix.
