Abstract

Full data base searches are avoided and performance overhead is reduced in managing indices by providing a current change record which is held for later sorting. Many indices are required for querying non-relational data bases. Maintenance costs are prohibitive if currency is desired. A solution is to produce a running record of index changes. The record will provide significant information and can be sorted into a conventional index as time permits.
