Output Bin Deflector for a Copier

The present structure acts as a shield to prevent foreign matter, such as staples and paper clips, from dropping into the output bin of a copier. The deflector is attached to the side of the copier directly above the output bin.

The deflector is attached by inserting the L-shaped top flange 10 between the side panel 11 and the top 12 of the copier housing. For a permanent installation, the end flanges 13 and 14 are fastened to the copier's side panel 11 with screws or adhesive. Sufficient clearance is provided between the deflector and the output bin 15 to allow easy removal of copies from the bin.
