This article describes a sound-deadening cover for use with a high speed printer, such as the IBM 5218, equipped with a tractor device for feeding marginally punched continuous forms.

In the figure, printer 10 is indicated in phantom. The tractor feed attachment brackets 12 are connected by rods 14 on which adjustable pin-feed tractors 16 are mounted. Wire web guides 18 are also provided. The hood of the present invention is a clear plastic which conforms to the overall shape of the tractor feed. Resilient cushions 22 form a shock absorbing interface between the hood 20 and mounting brackets 12. Downwardly depending gripper flanges 24 fit conformedly on either side of the printer ribbon element view window 26.
