Job-Separator Sheets

Ordinary copy sheets, carrying easily noticeable bars imaged during extra copy cycles, separate copy jobs.

Copy sheets 1 carrying copied indicia produced by a copier include extra copy sheets 2 and 3 carrying dark bars. In connection with each copy job (or run), an extra copy cycle images a dark bar on one edge of one or more sheets of copy paper taken from the same source as copy sheets destined to carry indicia.

During normal copy generation, an interimage erase light eliminates undesired photoconductor imaging between adjacent copies by illuminating from position D to position B. If, instead, the next copy is a separator, the light illuminates from position D to point A to produce a dark stripe.
