Cam Follower Type Bearing with Integral Shaft and Side Thrust Washers

Cam follower type bearings, which have an integral shaft, allow axial loads which cause housing wear. Also, there is friction between rollers due to roller to roller contact.

The proposed cam follower type bearing has an integral shaft 12 and side thrust washers 13 which allow the bearing to be mounted in a yoke-type housing or a similar device where the shaft is stationary and the hardened thrust washers provide axial containment and wear surfaces for the revolving portions of the bearing 14, thus eliminating the occurrence of bearing and housing wear from axial loads.

The bearing is prepacked with ideal lubricant, and double seals 15 are provided to reduce contamination of the bearing.
