Plural Denomination, Plural Output Coin Ejector

In an automatic teller machine, a plurality of coin tubes or cartridges are mounted in a row. A coin ejector including a collection pocket traverses the row of coin tubes, ejecting coins into the coin pocket as controlled by a computer. When the automatic teller machine has two documents and cash delivery stations, the pocket is arranged for dispensing at each end of its travel under the coin tubes.

The figures show a plurality of coin tubes 11. An ejecting mechanism 13 traverses the underside of the plurality of coin tubes, ejecting coins into a coin pocket 15 under control of a computer. Ejection is accomplished by a solenoid and kicker 17. Ejection mechanism 13 is driven by stepper motor 19 along guide rods 21 in order to be brought into alignment with the coin tube containing the desired denomination. At both the left and right ends of its travel, ejection mechanism 13 can be enabled to dispense the coins which have been collected in pocket 15 into a coin cup 23 accessible to a consumer.
