Slide in Baseplate Air Mover Assembly

This arrangement allows an air mover to be installed, changed and/or removed from its housing without removing the housing itself from a cabinet, by virtue of its slide-in design.

As shown, the air mover housing 1 comprises a box of sheet metal, for example, open at the top, bottom and front and provided on the interior walls with rails or tracks 3 which are mounted on the end walls, as shown, by any suitable means, for example, spot welding. The front cover 5 of the housing is arranged to be held in place by releasable means, such as the screws 7 shown in the drawing. An air mover baseplate 9 is dimensioned so that it will slide into the housing 1 on the upper set of the rails or tracks 3 and, when in place, will fit the entire area within the housing. An air moving device, such as the blowers 11, is fastened to the baseplate 9 and will accordingly be positioned within housing 1 when the baseplate 9 is inserted therein.
