Cross Over in Tri-Lead Cables

In conventional tri-lead cables, the center conductor crosses over the outer conductor near the cable connector. This cross-over point sometimes is a place where shorts occur.

The occurrence of such shorts can be reduced by cutting the insulation as shown on the attached drawing, thereby providing additional insulation between the wires at the cross-over point.
