Switchable reference voltage 10 provides two reference output levels at its output Vref.

With T1 turned on, i.e., Vin in an up level, the voltage drop across T1 is equal to its base-emitter drop Vbe1 less the drop Vd4 across Schottky diode D4. Under these conditions, the equation of the output voltage level of Vref is as follows: (1) Vref1 = Vbe1 - Vd4 + Vd2 + Vd3 - Vbe2.

With T1 turned off, i.e., Vin at ground, the output voltage level is as follows: (2) Vref2 = Vd1 + Vd2 + Vd3 - Vbe2.
