Abstract

Reflections from the inside surface of a CRT faceplate and phosphor interface are reduced by providing an intermediate layer of index matching soft glass which softens during normal phosphor bake-out and wets the phosphor layer, thus cementing the phosphor to the faceplate with a relatively transparent layer which matches the index of the glass to that of the phosphor crystallites.
