Protective Wrap for Photoconductor Belt

Shown above is a flexible photoconductor belt for use in a copying machine. The key to long life of the belt and high quality of copy from the belt is installing the belt in the copier without damaging it. The photoconductor belt shown above is covered by a flexible wrap.

The wrap is held together around the photoconductor belt by an adhesive tape 10 that covers the seam 12 of the wrap. Once the belt is installed in the copier, adhesive tape 10 is peeled from the wrap.

The wrap separates at the seam 12 and slides easily off the belt.

If desired, adhesive spots on the wrap 14 may be used around the periphery of the photoconductor belt to help hold the wrap on the belt until the wrap is removed.
