Panel Loader Mechanism

This mechanism handles wire mesh baskets loaded with printed circuit boards (PCB) or panels being processed in a manufacturing line.

A dolly (not shown) carrying the panel loaded basket (not shown) is positioned against the dolly stop 1 of the mechanism frame base 2, with hinges 3 and 4 being temporarily positioned outwardly to allow unobstructed entry of the basket between the side arm frames 5 and 6 attached to carriage frame 7, which is in its lower position. As such, the basket is engaged by the bracket 8 affixed to frame 7. The carriage assembly 5-8 is slideably supported through bearing supports 9B, which are affixed on the left and right vertical frame pieces 7L and 7R of frame 7, by two vertical guide shafts (cf. left guide shaft 9L) that are mounted on base 2. A cable pulley assembly 10 driven by pneumatic cylinder 11 mounted on base 2 vertically elevates the carriage 7 along the guide shaft axes 9A from its lower position to its upper position, thus removing the basket from the dolly to allow the panels stacked vertically therein to be processed at the particular work station. The procedure is reversed when the basket is being re- loaded onto the dolly.
