Abstract

This fixture is a simple hand tool for testing ceramic substrate pin-brazed joints. The base of the tool straddles a group of pins, while a center plunger is pressed onto the pin in the center of the group. The plunger is guided at the top of the base so that it is able to move in four directions for the distance of one pin diameter. When the plunger is extracted, it is guided toward the center of the group so that the test pin is automatically straightened.

Pin Bending Tool

This fixture is a simple hand tool for testing ceramic substrate pin-brazed joints. The base of the tool straddles a group of pins, while a center plunger is pressed onto the pin in the center of the group. The plunger is guided at the top of the base so that it is able to move in four directions for the distance of one pin diameter. When the plunger is extracted, it is guided toward the center of the group so that the test pin is automatically straightened.

After the pin is bent a predetermined number of times, the braze connection is inspected for possible failure.
