Alignment of Magnetic Head Modules

When joining magnetic head modules by means of a clamp, misalignment problems of the modules may occur as a result of irregular surfaces and non- parallelism of the clamping surface and the adjacent module.

As illustrated in the figure, a semi-cylindrical pivot 1 is positioned between the write module 2 and the clamp section 3 in a magnetic head assembly to eliminate misalignment. A read module 4 is disposed adjacent to the write module.
