Abstract

The addition of sodium nitrate to ink reduces the electrolytic corrosio rate of rhodium charge plates by as much as 30% (increases the lifetime). The experiments measured the time to corrode completely the rhodium from a charge slot exposed to ink with appropriate additions, and with constant anodic current.
