Abstract

Replicator generator designs having at least two disks for use in bubble domain devices are shown in Figs. 1-3. The replicator generator 10 in Fig. 1 has two disks 12A and 12B. C bar element 14 is positioned on one side of disk 12A, and disk 12B is positioned on the opposite side of disk 12A. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, disk 12B may be positioned on the top side of disk 12A. In Fig. 3 a third disk 12C is positioned on one of the sides of disk 12B. Disk 12C is larger than disks 12A and 12B to optimize the bubble replicating function.

Multi Disk Replicator Generator Design

The designs shown in Figs. 1-3 reduce the problem of catastrophic device failure due to the seed bubble leaving the disk to go to the C bar. If a seed leaves disk 12A for the C-bar 14, disk 12B will reload disk 12A with a seed bubble. If a double failure happens, i.e., disk 12A loses its seed to C-bar 14 and disk 12B loses its seed to disk 12A, disk 12A still has a chance to reload a seed back onto disk 12B.
