Printed Circuit Card Package with Card Retention Offset from Latching

Integrated circuit 10 is mounted on printed circuit board 11 which is held in a frame housing 13. This structure is conventional.

The frame housing 13, shown above, has a curved section whereby the card retention area 13A is offset from the card latching area 13B. The card edge 15 engages a slot in the card retention area 13A, thereby holding the card. A latching mechanism 16 engages a rim 17 in the card-holding area, thereby holding the card in place.

Card-latching mechanism 16 can be lifted, thereby releasing the card 11 so that it can be removed from the frame 13.
