Abstract

Braze boat pin locators 12A, 12B and 12C on brazing boat 13 accurately locate array input/output (I/O) pins (not shown) on a bubble memory substrate 14 (Figs. 1 and 2). The locator 12A is on datum line 1 (DU 1), and locators 12B and 12C are on datum line 2 (DU 2). Sliding blocks 16 and 18 have incline plane slots 20 and 22, respectively.

Braze boat pin locators 12A, 12B and 12C on brazing boat 13 accurately locate array input/output (I/O) pins (not shown) on a bubble memory substrate 14 (Figs. 1 and 2). The locator 12A is on datum line 1 (DU 1), and locators 12B and 12C are on datum line 2 (DU 2). Sliding blocks 16 and 18 have incline plane slots 20 and 22, respectively.

As shown in Fig. 1, the substrate 14 is loosely positioned against locators 12A, 12B and 12C. The sliding blocks 16 and 18 are in an open position to accept the substrate 14.

As shown in Fig. 2, the sliding blocks 16 and 18 are moved up the incline plane slots 20 and 22, respectively. Sliding block 16 thereby causes the substrate 14 to locate against locator 12A. Sliding block 18 thereby causes the substrate 14 to locate against locators 12B and 12C. The substrate 14 is now accurately located in a locked position ready for pin brazing.
