Abstract

Three conductors are enclosed in a polymer supporting structure with air spaces between the conductors. In the orientation of the sectional view of the drawing, the conductors are equally spaced apart in a horizontal plane. The center conductor is a signal conductor and the two outer conductors are ground conductors, ntional. The supporting polymer structure as is conventional. The supporting polymer structure has a generally rectangular tube shape that is split at the horizontal mid-plane to receive the two ground conductors which are located between the upper and lower halves of the side walls. A center partition extends from the top and bottom walls to similarly support the center conductor.

The supporting polymer structure has a generally rectangular tube shape that is split at the horizontal mid-plane to receive the two ground conductors which are located between the upper and lower halves of the side walls. A center partition extends from the top and bottom walls to similarly support the center conductor. The tubular polymer support is covered with an aluminum foil shield which electrically exposed outer edges of the ground conductors. An outer polymer jacket is provided. The conduc contacts the exposed outer edges of the ground conductors. An outer polymer jacket is provided. The conductors are separated primarily by air which is a lower dielectric constant than polymers or polymer foams that these conductors are commonly embedded in, and the signal propagation speed of the cable is improved.
