Abstract

A pair of bent tabs are mounted on the heat sink of a power supply and are attached to components of the power supply by two electrical cables. The heat sink clamps to a water cooled cold plate that has electrical contacts which align with the bent tabs. The bent tabs and the electrical contacts are pressed together with a clamp mechanism which conventionally clamps the heat sink to the water cooled cold plate to improve the heat transfer.

A pair of bent tabs are mounted on the heat sink of a power supply and are attached to components of the power supply by two electrical cables. The heat sink clamps to a water cooled cold plate that has electrical contacts which align with the bent tabs. The bent tabs and the electrical contacts are pressed together with a clamp mechanism which conventionally clamps the heat sink to the water cooled cold plate to improve the heat transfer.

The drawing shows an enclosure 2 for the regulator, a section view of the heat sink 3, the cold plate 4, a support 5 for the cold plate, and an edge view of a bus bar 6. The heat sink 3 extends slightly beyond the rear edge of enclosure 2 and beyond the rear edge of the cold plate 4 so that it overlies bus 6. A dielectric support 7 is mounted in an opening in the heat sink and holds a bent tab 8 in a position to engage a contact 9 of bus 6 when the regulator is plugged in. A flexible conductor connects the contact element to components of the regulator.
