Abstract

Described is an adapter that enables any of several connectors to be card- or panel-mounted with greatly reduced inventory of connectors. Referring to Fig. 1, part 10 can be snapped onto the top and bottom of a connector 12. This provides a means of panel mounting or circuit card mounting of the connector 12. If the part 10 is positioned so the retention barb 14 is toward the front of the connector 12 (Fig. 2), the assembly can be mounted in a panel 16. If the retention barb 14 is toward the rear of the connector 12 (Fig. 3), the assembly can be mounted on an electronic circuit card 18.
