Self Aligning Gear Teeth

An arrangement is described which permits gears to be assembled robotically with pick and place robots.

To robotically assemble gears with normal flat tooth form a sophisticated robotic control with feed back is needed. With the conical shape on the tooth as shown in Fig. 1, a self aligning condition is presented when gears are placed on their respective post/shafts. The functional position and relationship of the gear teeth do not change and remain normal, tooth form to tooth form.
