Typically, a user of a system must know a command or some other mechanism, different from the mechanisms used in the system, to ask for help.

A help mechanism is defined which makes use of mechanisms inherent to the system. In this case, the user points to the object for which help is desired, and presses the Help key. This technique is similar to that required to select objects where the user points to the object to be selected and presses the Select key.
