Abstract

A method is described to allow test cases to be debugged interactively in the test environment by the use of trace functions. An overview of a Test-Case Executor (TCX) system is provided in the following article. Several types of trace mode may be set (separately or in combination) during the execution of a test case which will cause various types of debug information to be displayed, allowing test case program bugs to be easily found. TRACE LIST: lists entire procedure when called. TRACE LOOP: lists all changes to loop variables. TRACE CALL: displays nesting information of calls/returns. TRACE STEP: displays each TCX statement prior to its execution.
