Abstract

An arrangement is described to permit test cases to be created and modified either in the hardware test environment with immediate code turnaround, or to be developed off-line using IBM Personal Computer (PC) editors to create transportable code. A Test-Case Executor (TCX) system is described in the preceding article. A simple line-editor is included with TCX, permitting test-case procedures to be created, modified, and executed interactively with the system under test. The following lists the line-editor commands. TCX commands associated with the TCX line editor. APPEND appends a previously created procedure. CALL invokes a procedure previously saved. CLRDIR clears directory of all saved procedures. DIR displays list of saved procedures. EDIT starts an edit session.

ENDPROC saves procedure currently being edited or loaded. ERASE removes procedure from saved area. INTERPRET leaves edit session. LIST lists all or part of a procedure being edited. MOD starts editing of a saved procedure. PROC starts saving a procedure from the source lines which follow. SAVE saves procedure currently being edited. %%macname defines a macro from the input lines which follow. %macname invokes a macro. %END saves a macro currently being edited or loaded. In addition, TCX programs may be created off-line in IBM PC files and down-loaded into the TCX interpreter. As a result, TCX provides both quick turnaround for code developm...
