Abstract

In a dot matrix print head a lever arm is driven against a missile assembly. The action may be ballistic or non-ballistic, resulting in impact or sliding wear. The missile assembly is composed of a tungsten carbide wire 1 with a plastic cap 2 molded onto the wire. This cap is the wear interface with the lever arm 3 which pivots on pivot 4. To minimize wear, the cap is fabricated from DELRIN 100ST* brand material. * Trademark of E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.
